After graduating in Economics from Bangladesh, he went to London for an advanced degree in Financial Management. In1984, he relocated to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and joined finance department Pegel Arabia, a subsidiary of the Sogex Group. In 1988 he has started his new journey in the manpower recruitment industry.

Following several years of work experience in London, Alam moved to Bangladesh in 2007 and involved himself in the manpower recruitment sector. Apart from recruitment, he is involved in divers business sectors, including construction, packaging. He is also a Director of Delta Life Insurance Ltd in Bangladesh. He has played a pivotal role in steering Manweb towards competitiveness in the dynamic business landscape by aligning all company policies with diverse global certification standards, emphasizing a commitment to excellence in Human Resources Development.
